The oils that can be used are vegetable oil, coconut oil, mink oil(Bee Natural Mink Oil is the best), neatsfoot oil, and many more. You can buy any of them and follow the below steps.

Step#1

Damp a white cloth into one tablespoon of leather oil.

Step#2

Step#3

After applying, keep it in an airy area for about 11-12 hours.

Step#4

Once the boots are dried, apply another coat of the leather oil. Dry it again, and you will see the darker shade of the leather.

Use shoe grease

Shoe grease is also an easy way to make your boots darker. The grease used for darkening is Huberd’s shoe grease, which comes with all-natural and pure ingredients that do not damage your boots. Cleaning your boots with water, you can evenly apply this shoe grease with a white cloth and keep it overnight for drying. You can use another coat of grease if the shoe looks a little lighter.

Use vinegar and rust.

One of the oldest and trending tricks is darkening your boots with vinegar and rust. These ingredients can help your shoes look new in the best way. Do follow the steps given below.

Step#1

Before beginning the process, you must decide which source of rust you will utilize. Two liters or so of vinegar should be heated.

Step#2

Once the rust source is added to the vinegar, the iron oxide will mix with the acetic acid in the vinegar solution to create ferric acetate, which will then react with tannins to color the leather.

Step#3

Keep this ferric acetate in a warm, ventilated container for a week.

Step#4

Take the mixture out after about a week and run it through the parchment paper to remove the liquid.

Step#5

Prepare a cup of black tea, let it cool, then apply the tea to the leather with a lint-free cloth. The leather won’t break as much, and the rust will be better absorbed.

Step#6

Apply the vinegar-oil mixture on the leather, and then give it a few hours to absorb. After drying the boots, you’re done!
